DAAD International Workshop on Entrepreneurship for Academic Innovations in Information Technology Sponsored by DAAD, Transformation Partnership Program
This international workshop is an activity of the DAAD sponsored project
"Fostering Entrepreneurial Spirit for Academic Innovations in Information
Technology" in the context of the transformation partnership program. The
project is aimed at promoting a “start-up culture" in the participating
Arab universities and stimulating the "entrepreneurial spirit" of Arab
graduates (and especially women) in information technology. The first day
of this workshop includes trainings on entrepreneuship related topics. The
second day provides an opportunity to discuss the problems and challenges
facing young entrepreneurs in the IT domain. Furthermore, both sucess
stories and new start up ideas in IT will be presented.

Dr. Gert Schorradt, Entrepreneurship Cluster Mittelhessen, Germany (Complete biography)
Dr. Gert Schorradt (born 1951) studied engineering at University of Bochum, Germany and economics at University of Rendsburg / Kiel, Germany. He completed his studies with a Doctor of mechanical engineering (Dr.-Ing.) at University of Essen in 1984.
Since 2005 Gert Schorradt works as Consultant of Private Equity Management & Advisory at his own company and attend to medium-sized companies (equity raising by companies, member of supervisory boards, coaching of owners and managers, for all questions of Private Equity, companies succession, expansion,... Also Interim Management, M&A, new products, international deals and cooperations. He is active as Business Angel too.). He is networking with a big number of people and companies.
Since 2009 he act as a Managing Director of ECM Entrepreneurship Cluster Mittlehessen, a projekt of the Universities of Mittelhessen / Wetterau and the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, Berlin

Dr. Sherwat Elwan Ibrahim, German University Cairo, Egypt
Dr. Elwan is Associate Professor of Innovation and Operations Management
at the German University in Cairo, where she teaches and researches
technology strategy, product innovation, and innovation management. Dr.
Elwan has delivered and advised numerous entrepreneurs and SMEs in the
areas of operations management, technology management, supply chain
management, competitive strategy under programs sponsored by the Industry
Modernization Center and Women Entrepreneurship & Leadership (WEL). As one
of the early founders of the WEL program, she experienced first-hand how
to turn a program from a standard executive education program into a
tailored entrepreneurship program addressing women’s needs in the Middle
East. Prior to joining the German University in Cairo, Dr. Elwan was a
faculty member at the American University in Cairo. She received her
executive education from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern
University, Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania and
UNEP/Wuppertal Institute, Germany.
Dr. Elwan received her Master’s degree from Steven’s Institute of
Technology where she applied TQM principles to technology transfer in
developing countries. She later received her PhD from the same school for
her work on technological clusters and sources of knowledge for innovation
- receiving the best dissertation award.

Mr Mondher Khanfir, CEO Wiki Start-Up,Coordinator at Carthage Business Angel Association
Mr Khanfir is a Tunisian Social Entrepreneur and co-founder of WIKI START-UP, a private Business Incubator based in Tunis. He led from 2002 to 2007 the ATUGE Network (Association des Tunisiens des Grandes Ecoles) launching also the Club” Atuge Entrepreneurs” in Tunis. He has also acted as Chief Executive Director at the Tunisian American Chamber of Commerce. Thanks to his international background and significant track record as Senior Project Manager and as Foreign Trade Counsellor for the Tunisian government, he has developed a good understanding of international economies and trades policies.
An Engineering graduate Mr Khanfir also holds an Executive MBA from the Mediterranean School of Business of Tunis, as well as a Marketing certificate from the British Chamber of Commerce in Paris. He benefited in 2004 from a special training program on Entrepreneurship & Innovation Management training at RPI New York – USA.

Dr. Abdellah Elmanouar , ENSIAS/Université Mohammed V - Souissi, Morocco
Prof. Abdellah Elmanouar is Professor at ENSIAS in Rabat, Morocco. He is
Head of the Department Computing and Decision Support. He is also
responsible for the program Business intelligence. He has a PhD in
economics from University of Montréal in Canada. His areas of interest
include E-business, E-Commerce, and E-Management.

Dr. Jihene Makni, University of Sfax, Tunisia
Dr. Jihene Makni is Professor of Entrepreneurship at Sfax university,
where she teaches and researches Entrepreneurship strategy in ICT and
innovative project. She has delivered and advised numerous entrepreneurs
and SMEs in Sfax Technopark. She experienced first-hand how to support
young student to set up their own start up and how to run business from a
standard education program of entrepreneurship(
coaching-mentoring-networking). She is a faculty member at regional
network of investment to reinforce relationship between industrials and
research. She received her PhD diploma from Sophia-Antipolis University
(France). She is now responsible of development and international
cooperation in Sfax
technopark. |
