Intelligent Data Analytics for Optimizing Water Supply of Olive Trees

OLIVIA's vision is to see olive trees not only as a target for monitoring, but also as part of the monitoring infrastructure in the spirit of the Internet of Things (IoT) revolution.
Networked olive tree sensors record and transmit physiological data at the level of individual trees together with environmental parameters. Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods use this information in combination with environmental data to predict the condition of the olive parcel. By detecting anomalies in the sensor data time series, risks to olive trees with respect to water supply can be identified at an early stage. Analogous to weather observation, the olive tree parcel receives its own monitoring and early warning system.
